In addition to our dedicated Innovation Teams in Tokyo, we have established Innovation Labs in Silicon Valley and London. We also have sites across Europe, North America, Asia (Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai), and a solid local network in the Middle East. Those global innovation sites are working to identify trends in advanced technologies, discover startups, and collaborate timelier, more quickly.
Also, we are accelerating innovation in collaboration with our assets at the global subsidiaries: Protective (U.S.), TAL (Australia), and the group companies in APAC.

In order to improve Customer Experience and to maximize the group synergies, we are accelerating our investment in innovation both external and internal.
Externally, we have invested in startups such as CureApp Inc., Oishi kenko Inc. so far, also several VC funds through our corporate venture capital (CVC) and will continue our active investment.
Internally, we have established the Dai-ichi Life Innovation Fund (DLIF) within the business operating budgets. The DLIF provides flexible funding for innovative ideas that would benefit our entire Group companies and support proof-of-concept (POC) experiments.
In order to accelerate innovation, we are incorporating internal resources, companies, research institutions, accelerators and VCs with diverse ideas and expertise from different industries.
To give an example of our achievement, we have entered into a strategic partnership with a U.S. startup, Neurotrack Technologies, Inc., through an introduction from one of our VC networks. In this partnership, together we are working on Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia which are rapidly increasing numbers of patients in Japan. We have adopted their "Neurotrack Cognitive Function Test" and providing the service in the Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co., Ltd. "Kenko Daiichi" dementia prevention app.
We will further drive collaboration with worldwide innovative companies to provide high value-added services and contribute in realizing the healthy longevity in the aging society.
