Ordinary Revenues by Segment
1. Domestic Insurance Business
Ordinary revenue at the domestic insurance business increased by ¥29.5 billion to ¥2,359.9 billion (up 1.3% YoY) mainly due to an increase in premium and other income resulting from strong sales at Dai-ichi Frontier Life.
Segment net income decreased by ¥66.5 billion to ¥78.7 billion (down 45.8% YoY) mainly due to rebound from an increase in other ordinary revenues YoY resulting from the impact of reversal for policy reserves at Dai-ichi Life.
2. Overseas Insurance Business
Ordinary revenues at the overseas insurances business increased by ¥59.0 billion to ¥767.2 billion (up 8.3% YoY).
Segment net income decreased by ¥22.6 billion to ¥35.2 billion (up 179.6% YoY) mainly due to an increase in reversal for policy reserves at Protective Life Corporation.
3. Other Businesses
Ordinary revenues at the other businesses segment decreased by ¥71.7 billion to ¥196.7 billion (down 26.7% YoY), mainly due to a decrease in dividends income from subsidiary. Segment net income decreased by ¥72.1 billion to ¥190.2 billion (down 27.5% YoY).
